Flightless Fruit Flies

Drosophila melanogaster (approx. 1/16") are the smaller of the two species. They have a shorter life cycle, reproduce rapidly, and are the ideal size for spiderlings (slings), smaller instars, hatchling reptiles, and tiny amphibians.Drosophila hydei (approx. 1/8") are roughly double the size of melanogaster. While they take slightly longer to produce, they provide a much meatier meal—making them perfect for older juvenile jumpers, larger instars, dart frogs, and small lizards.Both species are flightless and easy to handle, giving your pets an active, natural hunting experience!

Live Arrival Guarantee & Shipping/Pickup Terms
Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)We guarantee that all live animals and insects will arrive healthy and alive, subject to the following conditions:- DOA Reporting Window: Any Dead On Arrival (DOA) claims must be reported within 2 hours of carrier delivery or public pickup.- Required Proof: Clear photo or video evidence of the deceased animal/insect is required before any store credit or replacement is issued.- Replacements & Refunds: In the event of a valid DOA claim, we will provide either a replacement animal/insect (if available) or a store credit/refund for the cost of the animal only.- Shipping Fees: Original shipping costs are strictly non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for covering the shipping cost for any replacement shipments.- Weather Restrictions: Live arrival is only guaranteed when temperatures at both origin and destination are between 40°F and 90°F.- Pickup Requirements: For local pickups, animals must be inspected at the time of exchange. Once the animal leaves the pickup location in good health, the guarantee ends.- Exclusions: Guarantees are voided if an incorrect address is provided or if the package is left unattended after delivery.Terms of Service- Sales Final: All live animal and feeder sales are final. Replacements or store credits are handled strictly under our Live Arrival Guarantee.- Local Pickup & Delivery: Local cash or prepaid pickups take place at designated public locations in North Fort Myers. Local SWFL delivery fees are non-refundable once delivery is attempted.- Animal Welfare: We reserve the right to delay shipping or delivery due to extreme weather or unsafe carrier conditions to protect animal health.
